When you entered a search query on your preferred search engine, previously, the site would return with 10 blue link recommendations. Perhaps you’re thinking that since Google continues to operate in this manner, it is still the case. The fact is that a long-standing leader in search technology has moved beyond it discreetly.
Yes, Google has stuck to a rather tight format in presenting its search results over time. A list of blue links deemed to most closely match your query and the information you want to access is usually what you’ll see. However, look up any well-known musician on their engine right now, and you’ll notice that the information goes much further than just the titular links.
The bottom of the page generally has a news block at the top, and typically a profile immediately to the right. A few links are followed by another block, which is also video-heavy, before continuing with the rest of the result list.
The Google redesign is hardly a surprise. Because search engines continue to develop and new devices and technologies are introduced, a rudimentary user interface may not meet the needs of most people.
For years, it was utilized by rivals to Google, such as Bing and Yahoo, as a jive, referring to an “outdated” way of displaying results. For them, changing away from the basic “10 blue links” structure was a method to stand out.
Today, it’s still an idiom that may be found on SEO -related material and is most often used to refer to SERPs.
